Erasmus+ QUARTZ project: The 2nd Coordination Meeting was held in Urgench.

During the event, project participants analyzed the results achieved over the past six months, coordinated activities within the work packages, planned for the next stages, and exchanged ideas on learning from international experiences.

Participating Organizations

The meeting was attended by representatives of partner universities from Uzbekistan, Italy, and Bulgaria, including:

  • Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT)
  • Central Asian University (CAU)
  • Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage (SRIUT)
  • Urgench branch of TUIT (UbTUIT)
  • Varna University of Management (VUM, Bulgaria)
  • University of L’Aquila (UNIVAQ, Italy)

Main Discussion Areas

  • WP2 – Situation Analysis and Recommendations: CAU completed the analyses conducted at all universities and developed recommendations based on their results.
  • WP3 – Trainings: VUM is preparing training modules focused on quality assurance, digital skills, and transforming universities.
  • WP4 – Quality Strategy: UNIVAQ is working on developing strategic quality systems for universities.
  • WP5 – Pilot Implementation: UbTUIT has been selected as the pilot university. Initial implementation work will be carried out there.
  • WP6 – Internal and External Evaluation: SRIUT is developing evaluation criteria, and each stage will be monitored.
  • WP7 – Dissemination and Sustainability: CAU is working to ensure the dissemination and long-term sustainability of project results.

Technical Tools and Web Resources

UbTUIT representatives presented the project website (https://quartzuz.uz) and Telegram channel. Participants shared suggestions for enriching website content and being more active on social media.

Additionally, KIUT announced the list of technical equipment to be purchased. These devices will be distributed among partner universities in Uzbekistan.

Project Management and Reports

During the meeting, the activities of governance structures – project boards (Academic, Quality, Dissemination, and Management) – were analyzed. UNIVAQ once again explained the procedures for submitting reports under the "lump sum" financing system.
