Two-Day Training on Quality Assurance Held at “Silk Road” International University within the Erasmus+ QUARTZ Project

On May 28–29, 2025, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage hosted a two-day training program titled “Core Principles of Effective Quality Assurance Policy.” The event was organized within the framework of the QUARTZ project, supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, and aimed at improving education standards through international collaboration and institutional capacity-building.

The training was opened by S. Samariddinov, the project coordinator, who highlighted the strategic role and effectiveness of the QUARTZ project in Uzbekistan’s higher education reform process.

The training attracted a wide range of participants, including faculty members, researchers, department staff, students, and other key stakeholders. Their active engagement reflected the university’s commitment to enhancing education quality and reform.

The training addressed the following key areas:

  • Analysis of institutional quality management systems

  • Implementation of European best practices in quality control

  • Strategic planning of academic offerings

  • Evaluation of research and PhD programs

  • Development of student-centered curricula

  • Group work and practical assignments

Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, exchange knowledge, and develop a deeper understanding of modern quality assurance approaches. The training combined both theoretical insights and interactive exercises to ensure practical applicability.

This training marked a significant step toward strengthening the quality assurance system in Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions.
