On 12 October 2026, during Erasmus+ International Days, the QUARTZ project was presented to participants of the EMPOWER project final conference, “Her Power, Our Future,” at Central Asian University.
Janar Abuova, project coordinator at Central Asian University, introduced the project’s goals and activities to the conference presenters, students and researchers from universities across Uzbekistan and abroad.
About QUARTZ 🎓
“Quality Assurance for Reform and Transformation of HEIs in Uzbekistan” helps Uzbek universities build strong internal quality assurance systems. Through the project, partner institutions such as KIUT, CAU, SRIUTCH and UbTUIT are setting up Quality Assurance Units and developing QA strategies and quality policies. They work with European partners from the University of L’Aquila (Italy) and Varna University of Management (Bulgaria).
The presentation showed how quality assurance and empowerment go hand in hand: better higher education creates more opportunities for every student, including the young women researchers who shared their work at the conference. 💡
Thank you to the EMPOWER team for the chance to connect two Erasmus+ projects, and to all participants for their interest and questions!
🗓Next up: the 6th QUARTZ Coordination Meeting at CAU on 15–16 October.
QUARTZ is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project (101127171), funded by the European Union.
