On 15 October 2026, Central Asian University in Tashkent welcomed partners of the Erasmus+ QUARTZ project, "Quality Assurance for Reform and Transformation of HEIs in Uzbekistan," for the first day of the 6th Coordination Meeting.
The meeting was officially opened with a welcome from the project manager at CAU, followed by an overview of progress to date presented by Farkhad Niyazov (Kimyo International University in Tashkent).
What happened on Day 1 📝
🔹 QA Unit progress reports: KIUT, CAU, SRIUTCH and UbTUIT presented the structure, staffing and mandate of their Quality Assurance Units, their results to date, how they are implementing their QA Strategy and Quality Policy, and the challenges they face.
🔹 Website and platform overview: presented by UbTUIT.
🔹 WP6 Quality monitoring: Rossica Betcheva shared the external expert report and feedback on the QA Units' progress.
🔹 WP7 Dissemination and sustainability: CAU reported on dissemination activities
🔹 CAU campus tour: partners visited the campus, and the day ended with an official dinner.
It was a productive day of sharing results and honest discussion about how to make quality assurance work in practice at Uzbek universities. 💡
🗓 Tomorrow, partners will present their QA Units' future action plans, receive peer feedback from the University of L'Aquila and Varna University of Management, and agree the action plan for the next six months.
